Information
CHW
is a state-of-the-art primary healthcare facility designed to meet the
needs of the Northeast Wichita Community. Our mission is to provide family
healthcare through improved access and a heightened and unrelenting focus
on prevention and wellness education.
The
Center for Health and Wellness opened its doors in July, 1998,
with a mission to provide primary healthcare, prevention and outreach
services to the Northeast Wichita and surrounding communities. To date,
over 35,000 patients have been served, of which 42% are
uninsured. We have sponsored over 1,468 events in the
education center with more than 13,000 participants
enrolled in our prevention and wellness education programs, video conferencing
and community health screening. With the help of the Board of
Directors and Community, two million dollars was raised to build this
facility with No state or federal monies utilized.
The
CHW is located at 2707 E. 21st, four blocks west of WSU. Our newly constructed
facility includes six examination and treatment rooms, a treatment and
procedure room, laboratory and x-ray services, an education center, and
a children's courtyard and learning center. With the help of the community,
board members, and major donors, the dream of quality affordable healthcare
is a reality.
