CHW
is a state-of-the-art primary healthcare facility designed to meet the
needs of the Northeast Wichita Community. Our mission is to provide family
healthcare through improved access and a heightened and unrelenting focus
on prevention and wellness education.
The
Center for Health and Wellness opened its doors in July of 1998, with
a mission to provide primary healthcare, prevention and outreach services
to the Northeast Wichita and surrounding communities. Over 2
million dollars was raised by the community to construct this facility.
No State
or Federal monies were used. To date we have conducted more than 35,000 patient visits, of which 42% were uninsured or underinsured. We have
sponsored over 1,468 events in the education center with more than 13,000 participants
enrolled in our prevention and wellness education programs, video conferencing
and community health screening.
CHW
had the opportunity to Welcome Congressman Todd Tiahrt on February 20,
2004 for a tour of our facility. The Congressman met with our outreach
workers, clinic staff, patients, and several members of the Board Of
Directors to discuss and observe our Mission in action.
